How to install a plugin on your minecraft server?

To install the plugin on a server, your server base must be Spigot or a variant of Spigot, such as Paper or Purpur. Plugins cannot be installed on a modded server, such as a fabric or forge server.

In this tutorial, we'll install the world's most popular Minecraft plugin Worldedit on your server, making it easy to customize your world. You can download Worldedit for yourself at https://dev.bukkit.org/projects/worldedit.

If your server is running the latest version, download the plugin from clicking on Download latest File.

If your server is running an older Miencraft version, move to the File section.

Find your desired Miencraft version by looking at Game Version, and download its newest version. If you want to install the plugin on Minecraft version 1.18.2, find that on the list.

After finding the desired version download it from clicking on the small download button.

Installing the plugin

Move to the File managers section on the gaming panel.

Move to the plugins folder.

This requires that you use one of the afformentioned server bases (Paper, or alternatives). You must start your server at least once, for the server to create the plugins folder. You can stop the server after this.

Drag the plugin file into your plugins folder. You can also upload it from the Upload button.

Moving the plugin to the server can take a moment. You can also move it using an SFTP connection. When the plugin has moved, go to the Console tab.

Start your server, and the plugin will announce that it is running. You can verify its status by typing plugins in the console. If the plugin is green, it has been succesfully installed.

Congratulations! You have now succesfully installed your very first plugin!
