Instructions for creating a web page
Login to WordPress:
Use the WordPress dashboard URL (usually "yourdomain.com/wp-admin") and log in with your own username and password.
Start Site Editing:
Now you are on your WordPress dashboard where you can edit your website, add content, change your theme, and more.
Choose a theme:
WordPress has many free and paid themes that affect the look and feel of your site. You can choose a theme from WordPress' selection of themes. Click "add new" to find and download the theme you want.
Customize the theme:
You can customize the theme of your choice to meet the needs of your site. To do this, go to "Appearance" and then "Customize". From here, you can change colors, add logos, and make other appearance changes.
More pages and content:
To create pages, select "Pages" in the sidebar, then "Add New". You can create multiple pages such as homepage, information about us, contact information and services. You can easily add content to pages with WordPress' text editor.
-Once you've created pages, you can include them together by creating links.
More add-ons:
You can extend the functionality of your site by installing add-ons. Examples include SEO plugins (search engine optimization), contact forms, and social media sharing buttons. To find and download add-ons, select "Add-ons" and "Add New".
Save and publish:
Once you're happy with the look and content of your site, save and publish your changes.
Check mobile optimization:
Make sure your site looks good and works flawlessly on mobile devices as well. Most WordPress themes are responsive, but make sure anyway.
Back up your site:
Make regular backups of your site just in case. You can download a backup program in the "Add-ons" section (eg. UpdraftPlus).
Monitor and update the site:
Update WordPress core files, themes, and plugins regularly. Also, monitor the performance and security of your site.
Instructions for creating an online store
Install the eCommerce plugin, in this example WooCommerce.
- Log into your WordPress dashboard.
- Go to "Add-ons" and click "Add New".
- Search for "WooCommerce" and install it. Activate the add-on.
Start settings:
Once activated, WooCommerce will guide you through the initial settings. You can specify currency, payment methods, shipping options, and other important information.
More products:
Go to the WooCommerce menu "Products" and add your products. Fill in product information such as name, description, price, and stock information.
Set up payment methods:
Choose which payment methods you want to offer your customers, such as credit cards, PayPal, etc. Set up your payment methods.
Specify modes of delivery:
Choose delivery options like mail, pickup, home delivery, etc. Set up shipping rates as needed.
Design an online store:
Choose the right theme for your online store or customize an existing one. You can do it under "Appearance" and "Themes".
More pages and more information:
Create pages like "About Us", "Contact" and "Frequently Asked Questions" as needed.
Test and publish:
Before you launch an online store, test it thoroughly to make sure everything works flawlessly.
